To save Finn, Valerie takes punishment as a human punching bag, sacrificing her body for the money he needs. Her husband Silas—despite being a heart surgeon—keeps draining their savings into Lily’s hands, believing the sickness of his childhood friend. Finn never reaches surgery in time, and Valerie is crushed by the relentless fights. Once Silas discovers Lily’s scam, he murders her and then kills himself, releasing Valerie’s soul at last.
