Episode 21
Nine months pregnant, Nina overhears the man she trusted, Adrian, plotting to drug her and steal their baby for Celeste, his infertile, devastated friend. She pretends to accept the tainted pastry, then quietly vanishes before his plan can trap her. Alone and protected, Nina gives birth to Lark without him. Adrian eventually comes to regret it all, divorces her with a heavy compensation, and is granted monthly visits—yet he can only keep hoping Nina will forgive him.
