Episode 21
For her thesis, Helena crosses the forbidden sea and falls into the presence of Triton, a sea-god siren she mistakes for a merman. As she teaches him songs, she never realizes they are sacred rituals of courtship, even though he has already saved her once from drowning and waited through her forgotten past. After she is forced to stay as his mate, her memories return along with her love for him. Believing his pearl could hurt her, Triton sends Helena home, but she cannot accept losing him. She traps him to win the sirens’ recognition of his sentience, releases him, and asks him to marry her. They finally wed in the depths of the ocean and choose forever together.
