Episode 31
Mocked in the palace for her sturdy frame, Margot is brought into Emperor Lucien’s world only as a safeguard against bad luck. But away from the court’s judgment, Westglass House becomes a place of quiet intimacy, where she plants turnips, challenges him at chess, and grows into his only true confidante. Her tender letters with General Rowan awaken a different kind of love, one that ends in heartbreak when he falls in battle. Later, Margot stands as empress beside Lucien, bound to him by companionship rather than passion—yet the ache of an unfinished first love lingers.
