After Oliver’s betrayal leaves Princess Claire dead, fate sends her back to the moment before she must choose a spouse. Refusing to repeat the past, she rejects Oliver and the low-born dragon Stella, and places her trust in Vince, her loyal guard. At the Lightning Trial, greed destroys Oliver and Stella, while Vince survives with Claire by his side, becomes Dragon Emperor, and gives her a phoenix tree to mend her wounded heart.
