A death on the grassland becomes the spark for a war of loyalties. As the tribes split over belief, the protagonist and Gia are falsely blamed and the conflict spirals out of control. Gia is killed by the snow wolf, while Anar’s decision to release a bear ends with the beast wounding its own master. For Jenna, grief turns into vengeance after her sister’s death, dragging her into a savage fight with Hector. She takes Anar and the snow wolf’s lives herself, yet the bloodshed claims Hector and his heir as well. In the end, Jenna returns home emptied out, with hatred left as her only companion.
