Chloe has spent years at the bottom of her own family, handed leftovers, shut away in a basement room without windows, and given only £200 a month for tuition while her birthday goes unnoticed. Mia, the younger sister, grows up with luxury, generous spending money, and all the parents’ attention. Fed up with the unequal treatment, Chloe heads to New York for a well-paid job and stops contacting home.
